Hermana Wilbur will stay in Owensboro another 6 weeks!

Hermana Wilbur in front of the Kentucky Mirror
Hermana Wilbur happily reports that she will be staying in Owensboro through another transfer.  She would have been very sad to leave her present assignment as they have many individuals they are presently teaching the gospel.  Additionally, since the branch she is assigned to serve is very close to becoming a ward, she wants to continue to help them increase in numbers and strength.

Approaching 6-Month Anniversary!

Hermana Wilbur will pass her six month anniversary date on March 4th!  She can't believe almost a third of her mission is gone.  Her mom, on the other hand, CAN believe it as it seems a long time without her daughter's presence in the house.

Kentucky experiencing harsh, cold weather
Hermana Wilbur reports that the weather in Kentucky this winter has been unprecedentedly cold!  Temperatures ranging in the teens and lower is the pattern, with much snow fall, and even an ice storm.  She reported that the schools were closed for a week due to harsh weather conditions.  She felt a little envious as the missionaries still worked and trudged through the ice and snow.

Currently, she has many people earnestly investigating the church and she prays they will have a desire to embrace the gospel.

Quote from Nicole:  "We had a district meeting, and afterwards, we usually go to lunch together.  We decided to go to Texas Roadhouse.  We arrived first, and got out of the car to go reserve a table only to find the restaurant was closed.  But the cool part is - outside - we saw a man that we had tracted into a while ago.  We were able to talk to him a little, and while nothing crazy happened (like him asking to be baptized), it was just another confirmation to me that Heavenly Father puts us in the path of specific people."

Transfers come up next week, so we will shortly find out if Hermana Wilbur will stay or leave Owensboro, Kentucky.  Stay tuned!
